Wigan Places in 60s

Started by: ince1649 (2)

Just a few comments about some of the places and people around in 60s Wigan. As a teenager in the 60s I used to go to the Bodega on King Street (mostly the Wimpy Bar) and some of the people there were Mary Anders and Cath Sherrington,Jimmy Brady Roy Smith and Andy Baron etc.
The room at the top was another frequent place to visit with some good music from the likes of The Wheels and The Hurgs (used to be able to hear the sounds all over market square). I remember Janet Armstrong and Gill Conroy from there. Anybody still around from those days ?

My first wife's auntie was Mary Anders. She lived in Neville street Platt Bridge, then Lily lane. Same one?
